A Celebration of Cornwall’s Wildlife, Environment, and Community

In 2025, Penzance Promenade and the Town Centre will be transformed with vibrant new flags that celebrate the spirit, wildlife, and natural beauty of Cornwall.

Sailflags is proud to be manufacturing and supplying all the flags for this special project.
This spring, 18 colourful flags will be installed along the Promenade, with a further 150 displayed across Penzance Town Centre — bringing locally made art and colour to the heart of our community.

The designs for the Penzance Promenade and Town Flags have been created by local artist Jago Silver, a renowned illustrator based in Cornwall.

Jago’s distinctive style combines traditional drawing techniques with digital artistry, resulting in work that is lively, warm, and full of character.
For this project, Jago’s designs reflect the wildlife, environment, and activities that make Cornwall so special — from coastal birds and marine life to iconic landmarks and scenes of outdoor life.

Once Jago’s beautiful designs were complete, they were brought to life by our team at Sailflags, based right here in Cornwall.

We’re proud to have creating every flag in this project using eco-friendly materials and high-quality printing processes designed to showcase the artwork in all its detail and colour. Each flag has been carefully finished to withstand the Cornish weather while remaining bright, durable, and eye-catching throughout the seasons.

From design proofing and colour matching to the final stitch, our skilled craftspeople have ensured that these flags will not only look fantastic — but also stand as a lasting celebration of Cornwall’s creativity and community spirit.

About the Penzance Flag Project

This project aims to celebrate everything that makes Penzance and Cornwall unique — our rich environment, deep-rooted traditions, and vibrant community spirit.

18 Flags will be proudly flown along the Penzance Promenade, creating a bright and welcoming entrance to the town.
150 Flags will line the Town Centre streets, lifting the atmosphere and celebrating Cornwall’s natural beauty and cultural life.

The flags have been carefully manufactured by Sailflags, a local business based here in Cornwall, using sustainable materials and specialist printing techniques to ensure the designs remain vibrant and durable throughout the year.

When and Where to See the Flags

The Penzance Promenade Flags and Town Centre Flags will be installed in Spring 2025 and will remain in place across the year, offering a colourful backdrop to festivals, markets, and everyday life in the town.

Whether you’re visiting the coast, shopping in the town, or simply enjoying a stroll along the promenade, the flags will be a striking reminder of everything we love about Cornwall.
