Delivery and turnaround times
Every flag we sell is printed to order in our Cornwall workshop, so your delivery date depends on two things: how quickly we can make it, and how quickly it travels. The times below cover both. When we say Priority arrives in one to two working days, that is one to two working days from order to doorstep, not from dispatch.
Every flag we sell is made in-house. We have been printing, cutting and stitching flags at our Goldsithney workshop near Penzance since 1999, and no part of that goes to a third party. That’s why we can commit to dates this tight — when the schedule is ours, we control it.

Delivery options and prices
Choose your speed at checkout. Prices shown are per order and exclude VAT.
| Service | Arrives | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Production & Shipping | 7–10 working days | £16.95 |

Standard and Express are available on everything we sell. Priority is offered on our fastest-moving stock lines, and eligible products are flagged as such on the product page — if you can see a “Priority production available” below the product price, the option will be there at checkout.
Orders containing more than one item
Not everything in your basket is made at the same speed. A Priority-eligible flag can be printed and out of the door in a day, while a bespoke Gazebo in the same order takes considerably longer.
When that happens, we do not hold the fast items back. We send whatever is ready as soon as it is ready, and the rest follows when it is finished. You pay one shipping charge for the order, however many parcels it arrives in, so there is no penalty for combining a quick item with a slower one.
The practical upshot is that a Priority flag stays on Priority even when the rest of your basket cannot. If you need one item urgently and the rest can wait, order it all together — you will get the urgent piece on its own timeline without paying twice to ship.
If your order is going to arrive in more than one delivery, we will let you know, and each parcel gets its own tracking email as it leaves us.
What you are paying for with Express and Priority
It is a fair question, and the answer is that you are not just paying for a quicker van.
When you choose Express or Priority, your job moves up the queue. We print it ahead of orders placed before yours, run the press and the finishing table out of their usual sequence, and often keep the team on later to get it boxed and away the same day. Most of what you pay covers that work rather than the carriage.
Because all of that happens the moment you place the order, we are not able to refund the Express or Priority charge if a courier fails to deliver on time. The faster service was genuinely delivered on our side. That said, do get in touch if something goes wrong — we would much rather help you sort it out than leave you stuck, and nothing here affects your statutory rights.
What we guarantee
Our commitment is to the part we control: printing, finishing and getting your order onto the courier’s van on time. Meet the 9am cut-off, approve your proof promptly, and we will have Priority and Express orders packed and collected on schedule.
Once a parcel leaves our workshop, it is in the courier’s hands. The vast majority arrive on the day the tracking predicts, but weather, road closures and network delays do occasionally add a day, and those are outside our control. If a deadline is genuinely immovable, order a service ahead of the one you think you need and give yourself a day of slack.
If a parcel is running late, contact the courier first. They hold the live tracking and are usually able to tell you where it is and when it will arrive faster than we can. Their details are in your dispatch email.
Do let us know as well, particularly if you are working to a deadline. We will do everything we can to help you meet it, whether that means chasing the delivery from our end or looking at reprinting and sending a replacement.
The 9am cut-off
Our production day starts at 9am. Order before 9am on a working day and your flag joins that morning’s run, so the clock starts immediately. Order at any point after 9am and production starts the following working day.
It is a real cut-off rather than a marketing one. The press is loaded first thing and the schedule is fixed for the day once it starts.
Working days are Monday to Friday. We do not produce or dispatch at weekends or on English bank holidays, and those days are skipped when we calculate the dates shown on each product page.
Saturday delivery
Saturday delivery can usually be arranged, though it carries an additional cost — weekend services are priced separately by every carrier we use. It is not offered at checkout, so call us on 01736 719111 before you order and we will quote it and confirm whether the timing works for your job.
This is worth asking about if you have a Saturday or Sunday event. Getting flags on the Saturday morning rather than the Friday afternoon can be the difference between collecting them from a locked office and having them where you need them.
How your artwork affects the date
We email a digital proof for approval before anything is printed. Proofs are normally with you within one working hour of your order.
Your delivery estimate assumes you approve that proof promptly. Every hour a proof sits unanswered is an hour production has not started, and any revisions you ask for restart that cycle — we turn amendments around quickly, but each round adds time. Late approval is the single most common reason an order arrives later than the customer expected, and it is the one part of the timeline entirely within your control.
Two things that keep proofs moving:
- Supply print-ready artwork where you can. Vector files, PDFs and high-resolution images all proof faster than low-resolution web graphics that need rebuilding.
- Check the inbox you ordered from, including the spam folder.
If you need us to design something from scratch, our in-house team does that free of charge, but allow additional time for the design stage before the production clock starts.
Collection from our workshop
You are welcome to collect free of charge from:
Sailflags, 5 Nanturras Workshops, Goldsithney, Penzance, Cornwall, TR20 9HE
Select Collect From Sailflags at checkout. We will email you when your order is packed and ready. Please wait for that email before travelling — flags are made to order and turning up early means an empty-handed trip.
Collection hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
If those hours do not suit, we have an on-site collection locker available outside them. Let us know in advance and we will leave your order in it with the access details, so you can pick up early, late or over a weekend. Please arrange this with us before you travel — the locker is only loaded when we know someone is coming.
Where we deliver
We deliver across the whole of the United Kingdom, including the Scottish Highlands and Islands, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Isles of Scilly and the Channel Islands. We also ship internationally — see below.
Priority Production & Shipping is the one exception. The one-to-two-day window depends on a courier network that does not reach every postcode overnight, so Priority is limited to UK mainland addresses. If you are outside that area, Standard and Express both deliver to you as normal — you will simply see fewer options at checkout once you enter your postcode.
International delivery
We ship worldwide. International orders are quoted individually rather than priced at checkout, because cost and transit time vary considerably by destination and by how bulky the order is — flag poles and bases take up far more space than the flags themselves.
Send us your delivery address and what you are after, and we will come back with a shipping cost and a realistic arrival window before you commit to anything. Duties and import taxes are the responsibility of the receiver and are not included in our quote.

Tracking and receiving your order
Your order is dispatched with APC Overnight, Royal Mail, Parcelforce or UPS, depending on the size and weight of what you have ordered and where it is going. Tracking is emailed as soon as it leaves us. Someone should be available to sign for the delivery.
Flags and poles ship in long tubes or boxes and bases are heavy, so a large order may arrive as several parcels, occasionally on different days and occasionally with different carriers — a set of flags might travel with APC while the bases follow on a pallet service. The tracking email lists everything you should expect.
If a parcel arrives crushed, pierced or otherwise damaged, either refuse the delivery or sign for it as unexamined, then contact us straight away on 01736 719111 or by email. Signing for a damaged parcel as received in good condition makes a courier claim considerably harder for us to win on your behalf.
How fast can I get a flag?
One to two working days with Priority Production & Shipping, ordered before 9am on a working day and with the artwork proof approved the same day.
Do the delivery times include printing?
Yes. Every window on this page is production and delivery combined, measured from the moment the clock starts.
What happens if I order at the weekend?
Your order is held and production starts on the next working day. A Saturday order and a Sunday order therefore share the same Monday start.
Is the delivery date guaranteed?
We guarantee dispatch. Priority and Express orders that meet the 9am cut-off and are approved promptly leave us on schedule, every time. Delivery itself sits with the courier, and while delays are rare they are not something we can promise against. Build in a day of slack for a fixed deadline.
Can I collect outside your opening hours?
Yes. We have an on-site locker for collections outside 8am to 5pm, including weekends. Contact us first so we can load it and send you the access details.
Do you ship outside the UK?
Yes, worldwide. International shipping is quoted per order rather than priced at checkout, so contact us with your address and requirements and we will confirm the cost and transit time before you order.
My order has several items with different lead times — will I get them all at once?
No, and that works in your favour. We dispatch each item as soon as it is ready rather than holding the whole order back for the slowest piece, and you pay one shipping charge no matter how many parcels it arrives in.
Do you deliver on Saturdays?
Not as standard, but a Saturday delivery upgrade can usually be arranged at additional cost. It is not available at checkout, so call 01736 719111 before ordering and we will quote it.
How quickly will I get my proof?
Normally within one working hour of ordering. Nothing goes to print until you approve it, so the sooner you reply, the sooner production starts. Revisions are turned around quickly but each round adds time to your delivery date.
Will you refund my Express or Priority charge if the parcel arrives late?
No. That charge covers the additional production work and hours needed to make your order faster, not just the carriage. Once we have printed and dispatched to schedule, we have delivered the service you paid for. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Can I upgrade my delivery after ordering?
Usually, yes. Contact us as quickly as possible on 01736 719111. If the job has not yet gone to print we can normally move it up the schedule and invoice you the difference. Once it is on the press the production time is fixed, though a courier upgrade may still be possible.
Is delivery free on large orders?
No. Shipping is charged on every order regardless of value, because flags, poles and bases are bulky items and the cost of moving them safely does not shrink as the order grows. Collection from our Penzance workshop is free if you are local.
Do you deliver to the Highlands, Islands or Northern Ireland?
Yes, on Standard and Express. Priority is mainland only.
